Christmas time

Merry Christmas everyone!  I'm so happy that it is Christmas time.  Nothing is like christmas time.  It makes me so happy to think on the birth of our savior and how truly grateful I am that he was born and that he died for us so that we could have eternal salvation.  I'm so happy to be with my family for more then three days at a time and be able to sleep, read, exercise, and help my mom out around the house.  I miss the easiness of home and the kindness that I can usually expect from my family.  The Christmas has a different feeling to it for me because I've grown to appreciate my family so much more, and I've grown so much closer to my savior.  Thank you thank you thank you all for helping me through this first semester of school.  It's been so hard for me to get through, and I'm so grateful for the little things I've received in the way of prayers, notes, and friendship.  Merry Christmas!  I hope that it is all you could ever dream of.  All my love.

O the fun you have when you have no fun...

So this week has been finals week and it's been one of the more fun weeks from the semester.  It's kinda weird how that works out.  On sunday I was in Provo the whole day and it was fun cuz I was getting lots done but also getting some fun in by having textbook fun (sliding on textbooks.. o great stuff).  Then we went to ward wrap up and I enjoyed it... so funny because I have only gone twice and both times I've done stuff... like give the spirtitual thought or introduce my roommates.  Anyways, life's good even though it's finals time.  I'm not even stressed. bah!!

Exercise, thank heaven

this is me... after three hours

I love working out!!! It seriously is one of my most favorite things to do in the whole world... and that's a big deal I think because it really is so important to living life... It makes you less inclined for heart disease (I wish my dad would listen to me and exercise cuz i wouldn't be so scared about him dying of a heart attack...) it increases your likely hood of aging well, it makes you happier, it makes you look good, gives you a heathy glow... and most importantly, it takes away from life for a second and you get to focus on you... sometimes it's a nice thing to do, and you are supposed to have moments of reflection in your life right?  What a better time then while improving your health.  I went to 24 hour tonight and worked out there for 3 hours... talk about not wanting to be at school anymore. It was awesome.  I loved every second... even when I wanted to kill my bike during the cycling class. I don't think i've ever sweat that much in my life.  I think that I just might fall in love with cycling. :) I think it would be a great way to tone up your lower body, and to shake off that extra fat from the tummy... literally.. you shake a lot in the spinning class... I hope that you guys have some good stories for me of times when you worked out and loved it.  It seems to me that there's something new to discover and something new to have fun with with exercise.  Can you tell it's one of my biggest passions?? :)

Do you ever have those days when you just feel like this ... ?

Dear journal... ha ha!
It's so weird how i've felt all day, like I'm worthless, and all I'm doing is moving through the motions of the days.  There are some times in my life when i've wondered what my purpose here is... and every time I have these feelings I look to my family for support, I look to my good friends, the scriptures, my p. blessing, and of course (but usually last..) my father in heaven.  I just have stupid feelings of inadequacy and self doubt.  I seem to lose my persona somewhere in the monotony of my days.  I think the reason for these odd feelings today, is the lack of men in my life.  I feel like i've lost some of the best things that ever happened to me in my great friends who are either on their missions, about to go on their missions and are so busy that we haven't really gotten the chance to get together this semester, or are in high school.. :(.  I thought I made some improvements, claiming that I'd received 3 guys friends while being here in Provo, and it turns out that was just a joke.  It's a weird part of me that i've lost, and hardly have the desire to go find again.  Maybe this is just PMS!!! BLAST BEING A WOMEN. At least i can still laugh it out and pretend that it's just cuz i'm so awesome that no boy's are pursuin. bah ha ha. :)

O the joys of college.  Yesternight I couldn't concentrate, and I told whitney... dude, what can I do to get out of this helamen place... So we went to wal-mart... and I don't think i've had that much random fun since my first date with a boy my junior year. so sad. I must do it more often!!! It was funny we banana cheered. bah!

MAH ha ha ha... Vampire style

Last night I went to the twilight premiere of Twilight with Whitney... O my heavens it was one of the best nights i've had for years I swear.  We just laughed and giggled through the whole thing and enjoyed ourselves so much.  The movie is just as cheesy as the book was, but I would see it again for sure if I wanted a love rush.  There were some scenes in there that made me just want to shout for love joy.  What a time.  We got back at 3:30 and then had an 8:00 class.  It was great fun running on less then 4 hours of sleep.  But it was okay. I had Edward dreams. :)

That's all I got to say, and if you get it, you're awesome

I just want you all to know...

That I have three new guy friends who I met down in Provo.  I believe they all know my name, and we have made jokes together so I call them my man friends.  Yay for Kels.  She's growing up in the world of BYU.... Lame!

I also had a blast from the past ish kind of thing.  I talked to Anna and Vanessa this weekend and it was so good to connect with people who know me ha ha.  My mama always says to never forget the good friendships you've made at home... And I don't see the point in forgetting... So many people I've talked to who go down to college etc are like... I never really see or talk to my good friends from high school, but I do because I like them. Ha ha ha

Lastly, I think that someone spiked my diet sprite on friday night because I was in this nuts-o mood this weekend... I crashed today, but it was so much f
un to be that hyper and happy all week.  I was such a good week to follow all the bad weeks i've been having lately.  Things are looking up for me... and I'm happy. :)

What a joy to be alive!

So there's this man who works at the Cannon Centre (yes... centre... makes it sound elequent... cuz it is.  The rice crispies there could be fed to Kings, and they would die and go to heaven.  Yes, I eat them regularly, and yes I am immortal.)  Anyway, this man is fairly overweight, he's probably in his fifties, and he looks SO sad all the time.  If he wasn't so old, and it wouldn't make me a creeper, I'd be his friend.  I want to do something for him, because honestly every time I see this man, I just want to cry.  I've never had my heart go out to someone as much as this man, so what can I do?  I'm happy to have this little example as a reminder that my life could be so much worse.  At least I'm healthy, obsessed with exercise because of the happiness it brings me, and I have amazing friends and family who support me in whatever happens. (thanks dudes :) ).  I just know that I'm blessed, and I could bless this mans life somehow.  Any good ideas?  Maybe I'll make him a card. HA! I dunno.  Thanks for supporting me in all my exentrisities (spelling?). ha!

da BOM!

God answers prayers in the most subtle of ways.  Mosiah 1-6 answered mine tonight... and heck... it was an assignment. HA! Thanks to Jeff as well for bein my friend tonight and letting me vent.  I think that there's a lot to be said for the small things that happen in life eh? yay for the spirit!!!! :)

Okay okay it's not that bad...

I think that I found a little bit of my answer this week.  I found a friend, and actually my lacrosse team to me seems like a huge group of friends, who I can get along with easily.  I don't feel like I have to put on a face, or carry myself like a really good mormon girl would all the time.  In short, I can be human.  It's great when you find people that are just like you, who work hard, and seem to not get what they want out of life, but still they're happy.  I find a lot of inspiration from my mom in times like these.  She carries a lot more on her plate then I do, and so does my dad.  What incredible examples they are for me.  Also my sisters and brothers who are hard workers, and have gone through a whole lot.  You're all my example and I love you!  I hope to be like you in a few years, but for now, I'm going to keep learning and growing as a person.  My friend Emily said today as we were running, "What's life if you don't give it all you got?"  :)

I officially hate halloween

I never thought that life would be so hard in college.  Why am I here? Anyone have an answer for me?  Apparently it's not because i'm smart.

FUNNY!

So in my observations today I just had to write this on my blog too! It's been a day for bloging what can I say... I love it right now ha... anyways, I decided today to look like a good looking girl with my hair and make up done... what a sad thing that it had to be a decision for me to make... and I went to the cannon center alone... sat down by myself... and a dude came and sat by me even though I was "studying".  I thought, "weird, this doesn't happen when I'm in my running clothes..." then during my women's studies class today, the dudes in there (yes there are men in my women's studies class...) actually started the conversations with me today.  I think this has something to do with the fact that I looked like a women for one of the rare occasions so far in college.  I must be better at being "pretty"... ha ha!!!

the most beautiful and amazing... Run

Yesterday I decided to bridge the gap between my summer running and my fall running so I went on the same path that I ran for my half marathon.  I must let you know that it was the prettiest run i've ever done.  The river runs right by the path and the leaves are all different colors.  It even smelled great, like autum.  It made me miss my house in sandy cuz it smells like autum leaves, but at the same time it made me grateful for my life here in provo.  I think that that run is what inspired my new blog posts... they seem to be reflective today ha ha! Enjoy the pictures... they were taken on my phone!

Sometimes...

Sometimes, you just have to take what the world gives you, and smile. If only every day could be our best day.  I'm going to make a goal to have every day in some way, at some time... be my best day. :)

So many days, but all in one

It's weird to me how much life has changed, but also how much things are the same.  I've been here at BYU for a block of classes, meaning 2 months! Weird how fast it went, but also how slow.  I thought that I would flourish in college, and so did everyone who knew me.  But as it's turned out, I'm barely hanging in here.  I thought that class would be easy because I made high school a challenge with my many AP and concurrent enrollment classes.  Sadly, I'm horrid at college in terms of the classes, and the men world. HA! I've had no success in that department, only a few friends here and there, but honestly it doesn't matter to me so much.  I'm content with where I am, and I have close friends.  I made some WONDERFUL friends here in Provo, and feel blessed that I got to live in the dorms just so I could meet these girls.  They're awesome. Living away from home was supposed to be the best thing ever, but I knew it would be hard.  Who knew how much your parents actually do for you, and do love you!  I have found that I love being on my own, but just close enough to home that it's not so hard to go back if I need to.  I like that a blog's sort of like a journal ha ha!  The biggest blessing of all has been me being on the Lacrosse team here. These girls are fastly becoming close friends, and we play a totally different game of Lax so it's AWESOME competition every day at practice.  I love it love it!  We leave for colorado on friday for a tournament and I can't wait to see college women's lacrosse. WOOT! :) Wish us luck

Fall Firstlings

This is a picture of me and my roommate Maria while we were on a hike in the beautiful mountains. We were so excited that there were red leaves, and I think it's a pretty sweet picture of our faces ha ha. Welcome Fall! It's my favorite time of the year, and I hope to make this fall a memorable one.

GOOD QUOTES

In writing a paper tonight I've stumbled across so many good quotes!

*"To wish to be like someone else is to waste the person you are."
*"Try your best to succeed, but don't get down if you meet challenges along the way.  It really is true that we learn more from our failures than our successes, so try to look at everything as a learning opportunity."
*"You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy."
*"Why compare yourself with others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you."

THE FEMALE BRAIN!

So everyone knows how much I LOVE this class I'm taking called, Women's Studies, but mostly I'm excited about the book we're required to read called, The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine.  I just found her web-site!  I thought you might be interested in why I love it so much, so here's the address!  Please log on, men and women, so you can learn more about WOMEN! :) We're so awesome after all. ;)

The link for the teenagers is also facinating and it's:

Pretty flowers, my blog looked lonely, so I gave it flowers

This is called the kiss, and it's beautiful
MY NEW NEICE!
Ruby Mae was born on September 9th at 12:55 pm and she's the cutest thing i've ever seen.  I can't believe that it's been three weeks already, life's just passing me by so fast. I got a new nephew last tuesday as well and he's super cute as well. I like him lots!  Pictures will come later.

My clothing style

So far here at BYU my wardrobe has consisted of my many (ous) t-shirts and either my mc-short shorts (i'm so bad... at byu... with shorty shorts... wa ha ha ha) or just running shorts.  I taught in relief society, and I think the girls on my floor were shocked I even owned a dress. I must change my ways, but, I probably wont.

I created a Blogg!!!

Today, I'm proud to be one of the many, the proud, the bloggers.  I have had a pretty crazy life down here at college, and as I start this stage of my life, I want to keep some sort of record of it. Plus, I'm getting out of studying. (just a little break ;)).  Thanks to my Whitney friend for laughing at me while making this and telling me just to do it.  I also think it'll be so fun to do this instead of facebook so much... that's a crazy avenue.  The title was inspired by my life... if you get the difference in title it's running, instead of rolling, with the punches... cuz that's what I do.
